IVRate Calc

 What is IVRate Calc?

IVRate is a program I wrote to make calculating intravenous drug infusion rates easier and quicker than using  a calculator.  It allows you to store iv infusion solutions in a data base for quick and easy access. Or, you can manually enter the infusion information and dose if you wish.

Version History

Version 1.2 - 2/13/09

--Fixed a bug that caused decimal numbers to display incorrectly when adding a new drug.
--Increased the area of the "info" button to try and make it easier to tap.

Version 1.1 - 1/22/09

--Removed the Calc button and changed application to update rates dynamically as values change.
--Made the weight selector "sticky". Selecting either lbs or kg will be persistent across application restarts and pressing the "Reset" button.
--Added the ability to add a note to medications. **NOTE** tapping the "i" button on the main page opens a read only view of the note. Editing of the note must occur by selecting the drug from the drug list while in Edit mode.
--Added a default dose field when adding/editing medications.
--Fixed a bug with the rate picker where it wouldn't rotate to the currently selected rate.
--New icon and miscellaneous user interface tweaks.

Version 1.0 - 12/13/08 - Initial release

System Requirements

An iPhone or iPod Touch OS v2.0

Usage

Usage is simple. Either manually fill in the "mg", "ml", "weight", and "rate" fields then hit the "Calc" button. Alternatively, you can hit the "Drug" button to select a set of predefined values for the "mg", "ml", and "rate" fields.

To add medications other than the two that come pre-programmed with the application, tap the "Drug" button to go to the list of medications. Next, tap the "Edit" button in the upper right corner of the screen. You may now edit existing medications or add new ones.
